Matthew 13 talks about Jesus Christ comparing different types of people who are receiving the Word of the Kingdom of Heaven with that of different types of soils available while sowing the seeds in a field.

The soil where the seeds are being thrown is divided into four categories as follows
1. Soil along the road
2. Soil which is rocky
3. Soil with thorns and weeds
4. Soil that is good for cultivation

Let’s study the word Jesus explaining to His disciples.

The soil along the road is the one which is not watered and hence it is dry and when the seed falls on it, the seeds do not germinate. This indicates that there is no interaction between the soil and the seeds. The seeds remain without being germinated and the seeds are taken away by the birds that find it.
People can also be like this dry soil without water. When they hear the word, they are least bothered to understand it. The Word is telling to change the way we live, a sinner’s life. But this category of people never understands as to why we must change our ways.

The soil which is rocky has very little humus which supports the plant life. When the sun is hot and the heavy winds blow, the moisture in the soil is evaporated and the plant withers and wilts. The people of this category are those who understand the Word and try to change the life according to the Word. But when they are tested for their faith, they fall apart and lose the battle. They will follow the ways of the world because they do not like to face the persecution on account of the Word.

The soil full of thorny bushes and weeds is very fertile. The seeds which fall on this soil germinate and grow healthy. But because there are more thorny bushes around, the good plant is chocked and its growth is hindered. The good plant does not bear fruits. People of this category understand the Word very well. They will make changes to their life, but to certain extent only. Because they are preoccupied with their old teachings and beliefs they are unable to accept the whole Word. Because of their questioning and reasoning on the basis of the knowledge that they have acquired from this world, their wealth which makes them proud, they are too busy to give time for the Word, lack of love for their Creator, the pleasures of this world pulls them away from the Word. There can be many reasons which will not let them follow the Word in spite of them being able to understand what the Word says.

The soil that is good for cultivation is fertile and free of thorny bushes and weeds. The seeds sown in this soil will grow healthy and will produce thirty, sixty or even hundred folds. This soil which is good for cultivation is prepared by the cultivator. It is cleaned of the weeds and thorny bushes and then plowed to loosen the soil. It will receive the seeds properly and the seeds germinate and grow without any hindrance and it also helps them to be fruitful by providing the needed minerals and water. People of this category are the ones who were like the soil with thorny bushes but they are now free from those thorny bushes and weeds. I believe that all the pains and troubles we face are the situations where God pulls out those thorny bushes and weeds from our life. If we endure all those pains and become the good soil, we will definitely understand the Word and also implement and follow the Word. The Word will grow in us and we will see the fruit of it in our lives. Whenever there is pain and troubles in our lives, we must be glad that God is trying to make us better and so we must seek and find the fault or sin in us that which He is trying to remove. We must be loose soil to let the weeds go off with less pain. Or else He will use tools to pull that out. The harder we become, the greater the force of God. Once we come to know that God has chosen us and He is working in our lives, we must gladly submit ourselves into His hands. In this way our lives will be much better and with Peace that Jesus Christ gives.
Jesus Christ said in verse John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Prayer: Our Father in Heaven, we give you thanks for the Word that you have given us. Please make us the good soil for you. Cleanse us with the Blood of your Son Jesus Christ. Give us the wisdom and knowledge to understand your Word. May your Word be fruitful and may you be glorified in our lives.
In Jesus Name we pray.

Amen.

John 13

In this chapter Jesus Christ is talking about the way His disciples have to treat each other. Jesus knew that his time has come to depart out of this world to the Father and He gives a New Commandment in Verse 34 saying “just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.’’ And in verse 35 He says that by doing so all people will know that they are His disciples.

How did Jesus love His disciples? From verse 1 we see that Jesus loved them to the end. From verse 38 we find that Jesus knew all things before they happened and so tells Peter that he is going to deny Jesus Christ three times before the Rooster crows. Jesus Christ washes the feet of Peter while He knew Peter is going to deny Him. So He forgives Peter and washes his feet so that he can have a share with Jesus. Jesus also wipes the feet of his disciples with the cloth wrapped around Him. He puts all his pride aside in serving his loved ones. We are able to see how Jesus loved them.

So Jesus is telling His disciples to be like Him and to forgive and serve each other with humility. Jesus is doing all this because He wants His disciples to learn His ways. That is why in verse 36 He replies to Peter and says that they will follow Him afterwards.

If we want to be where Jesus Christ is now; that is in Heaven seated at the Right Hand Side of the Almighty God the Father, we have to follow His ways.

His way is Love and doing good to others. Jesus also says about whom we must show our love to. We must always love our brothers and sisters in Christ. They are the one we must love and serve.

Then if we are truly Jesus disciples, we have to love one another and show it in our actions by which others will come to know who we are. And when they receive us they receive Jesus and also the Father who send Jesus into this world.

When the unbeliever sees the love we share with one another and receive us, he becomes one among us; he will also be blessed by the Holy Spirit as written in verse 20.

In this chapter we also see that Jesus Christ is blessing His disciples who are clean in spirit and simultaneously an unclean spirited disciple being handed over to Satan. Jesus washes the feet of the unclean disciple i.e. Iscariot Judas also, but still he remains unclean. We must remember Luke 5 where Peter repents and confesses as being a sinful man. So Jesus says in verse 10 “you are clean” So when we repent we will be clean and Jesus will clean rest of all things which we cannot clean by ourselves and only He can.Jesus Loved us so much that He will come and clean and make us worthy of Him. Believe in Him when He says ‘I love you’ because as Peter believed Jesus and was lead to repent and became clean, so we by believing Jesus Christ and doing all those things He commanded, can be part takers with Christ in His Holy Kingdom. Keep praying for His blessings and to understand His Word.

Prayer: Our Father in Heaven, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit you gave us. Forgive us when we are unknowingly being unfaithful to you in any matters. Bless us with the wisdom to understand your Word and follow Jesus Christ all through our lives. Give us the strength to forgive others and able to serve them with humility.

May your will be done in our lives always.

In Jesus Name we pray.
Amen.

According to Bible only human beings are worthy to be the temples of God. We are the temple of God and not God itself.
If a rich man has many houses, he will stay in those houses which are worthy of him. Why will he go and stay in a house with no electricity or gas or anything related to his comforts?
Likewise God has some conditions for Him to stay in those temples. He will not stay in a temple just because it is called His temple. So do not think that God will dwell in us even if we do all wrong and mess it up with all dirt and filth.
We will keep ourselves Holy by constant prayers and leading a righteous life and see the mighty powers of Amighty God manifest in us !!

In Jesus's Mighty name,
Amen!

1 Corinthians 3:17

16Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?17If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. 18Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise.
